The workshop organizers gratefully acknowledge the National Science Foundation (NSF) for its support in providing student travel grants for the ERAU–NASA–NSF Aerospace Cybersecurity Workshop.
Who Should Apply
Applications are encouraged from undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at U.S.-based institutions. We welcome applicants from a wide range of academic institutions and disciplinary backgrounds, particularly those interested in aviation and aerospace cybersecurity.
Award Criteria
Due to limited funding, travel grants cannot be awarded to all applicants. Selection will be based on a combination of the following factors:
- Demonstrated interest or involvement in cybersecurity, particularly aviation or aerospace-related topics
- Evidence of financial need to attend the workshop and participate in student activities such as the Capture-The-Flag (CTF)
- A meritorious academic or research background, as supported by application materials
Award Description
Subject to NSF funding availability and applicable restrictions:
- Students traveling from outside Arizona may be reimbursed for eligible travel expenses (e.g., airfare and hotel) up to $1,000
- Students traveling within Arizona may be reimbursed for eligible expenses (e.g., hotel) up to $500
Actual award amounts may vary based on available funds. All reimbursements will be made after the workshop, based on documented actual expenses and in accordance with institutional and NSF policies.

To apply, submit a single PDF file containing:
- Resume
- Brief statement of interest describing:
- The student’s interest in aviation and aerospace cybersecurity
- How the student expects to benefit from attending the workshop
- Letter of recommendation from the student’s advisor, including justification of the student’s financial need.
