Captain Avril SammisCaptain Avril M. Sammis is the Recruiting Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 028 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.

Capt. Sammis enlisted in the Air Force in June 2005, working as a services apprentice, protocol specialist and recruiter before commissioning through Officer Training School in March 2016. After completing training at Vandenberg SFB, California, as a missileer, she served in a variety of positions in the 490th Missile Squadron, including mission lead crew commander, assistant flight commander, instructor and evaluator. Prior to her current position, she was a flight commander in the 490th Missile Squadron, Malmstrom AFB, Montana.
