The College of Engineering strongly encourages students to seek internships, co-ops and undergraduate research experiences to complement classroom knowledge, help define career choices, and to gain real-world work experience to support their professional employment or graduate school search upon graduation. This program aids in bridging the gap between student life and the working world while combining the student's academic and career interests with work experience.
In addition to improved self-confidence and interpersonal skills, students establish valuable professional contacts and broaden their job opportunities after graduation.
Additionally, most engineering internships offer the potential to earn academic credit while at the same time earning money. In tight employment markets, the program gives students another competitive edge, augmenting our existing superior program of course work and hands-on projects.
Career Services helps students identify internship and research opportunities, and assists in all steps of the application and interview process.
Select past internship opportunities include: ACSS, ATK, Belcan, Boeing, Cessna, CIA, Continental, Edwards Air Force Flight Test Center, GE Aerospace, Goodrich Aerospace, Honeywell Aerospace, NASA, NASIC, NORAD, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation Systems, US Airways, and United Space Alliance.
