On the scale of billions and trillions of years, there are daunting cosmic events we will encounter and only overcome if we decide to take long-term steps toward technological and scientific progress. For Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s first professionally produced fulldome program, in cooperation with Double Dome Films, we decided to explore our distant future from a perspective of hope and optimism. If we truly commit to fostering a multi-generational, millennia-and-beyond relationship with science, what incredible places might we go?
This film mixes scientific knowledge with artistic speculation, taking us from the modern-day Earth to black hole societies, with the goal of getting audiences thinking in positive, personal, and creative directions about the distant future. The ambitious narrative is accompanied by an original soundtrack recorded at the legendary Vienna Synchron Stage and includes cameos by modern astronauts and other impactful aerospace figures.
As Dr. Andrew Aldrin says to introduce our program: As far away as the stars are, we will rise to meet them.
