Astronomical Observatory Viewing

View Saturn, the Dumbbell Nebula, and other interesting astronomical objects through our telescopes at the on-campus observatory. Tour the facilities used both in classes and for student research projects, hosted by the Astronomy Club and faculty. Vans will run between the Campus Visitors’ Center and the observatory at regular intervals from 7:00pm-9:00pm, with the last vans departing the Visitors’ Center at 8:30pm.

Discovery Flights

Discovery flights will be available on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.Availability is limited; you must reserve your flight prior to Wednesday, October 22, 2025.Weather permitting. The cost is $150 plus tax for 40 minutes in the Cessna 172. Plan one hour for the entire activity. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Please plan to drive your own vehicle to the flight line.

In previous years, flights filled up well before the reservation deadline.

This show is all about the concept of size and scale when it comes to the universe. Starting at Earth, we will fly farther and farther away from home, encountering the incredible structures that populate the cosmos, traveling right to the edge of our visible knowledge of what surrounds us.
