Spring Celestial Gala Honoring Jim and Linda Lee

5-year celebration of the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium

At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Dive into space, science, and symphony at the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium’s inaugural Spring Celestial Gala!

Guests will enjoy a uniquely astronomical progressive dinner around campus catered by local favorite chef and restaurateur Barry Barbe, of Greenway Catering & Events by El Gato Azul followed by an Embry-Riddle-themed live auction and exclusive live planetarium program.

The Planetarium has entered its fifth year of operation and we are celebrating this milestone by honoring our incredible patrons Jim and Linda Lee, and by exploring the newest frontiers of space revealed to us by the James Webb Space Telescope. In a live Planetarium show, created and available for this weekend only, we will use the three movements of a London Symphony Orchestra recording of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto to delve into three aspects of the universe James Webb is investigating with the best technology humanity has sent into space to date. Billions of light years of space and unfathomable eons of time have never been closer to our fingertips. Let the story come alive as we fly through the universe with cosmic narration by Planetarium Director Eric Edelman.

Contributions are a meaningful investment in Embry-Riddle Prescott as well as enable generations of young students to choose the exciting world of STEM and all its possibilities. With support and collaboration, we’ll set new standards for service and research in STEM education and all its related industries.

As we celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium, this gala serves as our strong commitment to present and future supporters of our ambitious plans to continue expanding our offerings and capabilities in ways that will amaze, educate, and inspire all those that find themselves beneath the stars of our dome.
