Prescott Campus Sports Facilities

The athletics facilities area takes up the western part of campus and includes the fitness center, gymnasiums, varsity soccer field and track, and recreation fields for both intercollegiate and intramural sports. Just north of these sits the outdoor swimming pool and courts for racquetball, tennis, and sand volleyball.

The Athletics Center itself is in Building 80 and was recently renovated with even more upgrades on the way. Built in Fall 2011, the fitness center is home to a weight room and the new cardio room, which features flat-screen TVs on the walls and iPod/MP3-ready elliptical machines, treadmills, stair-steppers, and other cardio equipment. Just off the main lobby is the aerobics room, which offers various exercise classes, including yoga, yoga for golfers, Zumba, and even ballroom dancing.

Attached to the Athletics Center is the Eagle Gym, which is open during fitness center hours for students to play a pick-up game of basketball or indoor soccer, take advantage of the indoor climbing wall, or possibly catch an intramural dodgeball tournament. The men’s and women’s locker rooms are also found here. This multipurpose space hosts University-sponsored events, such as OctoberWest and the International Festival, as well as ROTC training exercises. The 96x60-foot gym surface is equipped for basketball and volleyball.

The wrestling and volleyball teams as well as various intramural sports teams spend their time competing in the Activity Center (Building 83) that sits just behind the Athletics Center and Eagle Gym. This space features two full-sized basketball courts on the classic hardwood gymnasium floor, and retractable bleachers can transform the space for larger events. The 120x120-foot gym can hold up to 1,900 people and is used for other events, such as orientation, graduation, the Career Expo, and Information Fair as well as local and state youth sporting events.
