Universe Mashup

The Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium Presents: Universe Mashup

Four different planetarium shows all smashed into one weekend!

Each hour, we will be playing a different show. You can find the schedule below:

Friday, 1/31

6:00 PM: The Sun: Our Living Star

From the journey of protons racing through the world’s largest particle collider in Europe to up-close views of the Big Bang and emergent cosmos, Phantom of the Universe is a new fulldome planetarium show designed to immerse audiences in the search for dark matter. Narrated by Tilda Swinton. A 10 minute live star talk will be included prior to the main program, with telescope observing to follow the show (weather dependent).

7:00 PM: Back to the Moon

What are some of the modern day space missions we have sent to comets, dwarf planets, and other parts of our solar system? Hayley Atwell explains. A 10 minute live star talk will be included prior to the main program, with telescope observing to follow the show (weather dependent).

Saturday, 2/1

2:00 PM: Beyond Our Solar System: Exploring Alien Worlds

Over the past few decades, we have started to discover planets orbiting stars other than our Sun. What are these extra solar worlds and how do we plan to explore them? A show narrated live by Planetarium Director Eric Edelman.

3:00 PM: Across the Visible Universe

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, we explore the discoveries that have been made on our Moon, as well as many other moons within our solar system.

A show narrated live by Planetarium Director Eric Edelman.
