Embry-Riddle’s Prescott campus is proud to host its 4th annual Veterans’ Appreciation Concert in honor of all veterans and their families Thursday, Nov. 8, at 5:00 p.m. at the campus Activity Center.

The 108th Army Band, the Arizona National Guard based in Phoenix and the Prescott Fine Arts Singers will lead the evening of patriotic music and veteran tributes. The 108th Army Band, whose main role is to promote troop morale, will perform a mix of traditional and contemporary music including rousing military marches, folk tunes and modern rock ‘n’ roll. The citizen-soldiers of the band include educators, businessmen and women, mechanics, government employees and students.

“The Veterans’ Appreciation Concert is our way of saying thank you to those who served in the past and those who are currently serving. We are truly grateful for their service and sacrifice,” said Dr. Frank Ayers, chancellor of the Prescott campus.  “Embry-Riddle is proud to support our veterans and recognize our servicemen and women, our ROTC students and Embry-Riddle alumni who have served our nation. This year, we are especially proud to honor our Vietnam veterans.”

Helping to make the event possible are Embry-Riddle’s Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC Detachment 028, the university’s Student Veterans Organization, the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and community and government organizations.

Before the concert, starting at 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy free activities including a barbecue, entertainment, a veteran support fair and presentations. To find the Activity Center, turn into campus at the traffic signal at 3700 Willow Creek Road.
