Douglas Harder Douglas Harder

Program Director

I started working with TRiO programs in 1980 as an undergraduate student at Northland College in Wisconsin. I supervised the dormitories for the Upward Bound Program. I drove the school bus, supervised outdoor adventures, and did mostly whatever the Director asked me to do. After graduation with a BS in education from Northland College I was made the Assistant Director of the Northland Upward Bound Program. I later moved on to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During my tenure with TRiO I have seen hundreds and hundreds of underrepresented students enter and succeed in higher education. I continued to work with high school age students for many years. In a few years I completed by Master's Degree in Education Administration and served as the President of the Wisconsin Association of Educational Opportunity Programs. I started working with McNair Programs in 2007. I retired from the University of Wisconsin and came to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to direct another wonderful McNair Program.
