Team Peacemaker: AIAA Design-Build-Fly
Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering
AIAA Design/Build/Fly (DBF) is an annually held international competition. The competition calls for teams to design, build, and fly R/C airplanes to various challenges aimed at testing the knowledge and skills acquired by students of aerospace engineering.
The 2013 DBF project is based on a stealth fighter type mission. The competition requires airplane to carry internal stores for stealth mission challenge and larger external stores for strike mission challenges. The ERAU-Prescott team has developed a flexible design that incorporates cutting edge materials to maximize internal rocket stores and cruise speed. This airplane has been named Peacemaker.
