Embry-Riddle Prescott is also a member of the Mini-BooNE (Mini-Booster Neutrino Experiment) Collaboration where scientists search for massive neutrinos. Neutrinos are subatomic particles previously thought to be massless. However, recent detection of neutrino oscillations points to the fact that at least 2 of the 3 neutrino species in our universe truly have mass. How much mass? That is what we are trying to find out.
The experiment is located at Fermilab (Batavia, IL) about 30 miles west of Chicago.
