Embry-Riddle's flight program is designed to allow students to earn their ratings in just three years (unlike many other schools). Embry-Riddle also lobbied Congress to allow its students to receive a restricted ATP with 500 less hours than the FAA mandated 1,500 hours, allowing our students to be years ahead of others in their career field. Students pay after each flight activity and total and annual costs vary by student ability, flight ratings being pursued, and other factors. Individual students can expect to pay $40,000-$60,000 throughout their time in the flight program to acquire all their desired ratings. Flight training takes place in state-of-the-art aircraft — Cessna 172s or Diamond DA42s — with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits and ADS-B real-time radar. Additional flight training takes place in the Cessna 182RG and the Cessna 152s utilized by our nine-time NIFA national champion flight team.

International applicants should apply at least 90 days prior to the beginning of classes for the semester of application.
Your Eagle Dollars and Flight accounts are already opened when you are accepted as a student. The easiest way make deposits into any of your accounts is through the EAGLEcard tab on your Blackboard account. You may also make deposits at the Cashier's Office, via telephone with a credit card, or at any of our three Value Transfer Stations (VTS) located around campus.
After completing the training session, you may pay for your session online through the Education and Training Administration (ETA) system. You may pay with a credit card, debit card, or with your Flight Account through your EAGLEcard. The Flight Account is a prepaid debit account where account funds are accessible to pay for flight activities only. Remember, any combination of these payment methods may be used at any time. Students can manage their EAGLEcard accounts in Blackboard. Just log in to ERNIE, click on "Go to Blackboard home", and select the EAGLEcard tab. Guest deposits can be made by going to Guest Deposit — ERAU EAGLEcard. For information on the EAGLEcard or if you have any questions, please call the EAGLEcard Department at 928-777-3900.
Embry-Riddle recommends that students and parents budget from $15,000-$25,000 per year for flight fees for the three years they will be progressing through the Flight Program. Please take into consideration that prices vary per student.
